This Guwahati man risked his life to save leopard stuck in 30ft well

On December 13, the seven-year-old leopard was found trapped inside an open dry well, which was around 30 feet deep, in Guwahati, Assam.

Not a lot of people would manage to keep calm at the sight of a predatory leopard, let alone dare to go near one. But this man from Guwahati risked his own life to save the life of a female leopard stuck in a well.

On December 13, the seven-year-old leopard was found trapped inside an open dry well, which was around 30 feet deep. As per reports, the female leopard was scouting for food when it got stuck inside the well in Boragaon region.

A video of the rescue operation, shows the animal growling at people surrounding the well.

To rescue the helpless beast, veterinarian Dr Bijoy Gogoi climbed down into the well after having it tranquilised, as per an Assam Tribune report. Other forest officials and local residents were also present at the scene to assist with the rescue.

The leopard was later sent to the Assam Zoo, cum Botanical Garden. A medical examination found no external injuries on the animal.
