A small-time vendor in Hyderabad has become a source of livelihood for hundreds of women.
But it’s not his ice-cream stall that is empowering women. Shahed collects his earnings to run his free tailoring training facility for women.
It all started when a helpless widow came to him asking whether he could donate a sewing machine to her so that she could earn a living.
What started as a single donation, turned into a full-fledged training centre. He initially owned only one machine.
Now, his centre has 15 machines and each day 200 women come to train at his tailoring shop.
