It was a hot day in the national capital, Delhi, on March 23 as the maximum temperature rose to settle at 37.4 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest day in March since the past seven years.

The maximum temperature was seven notches above the season’s average while the minimum temperature was recorded at 18.4 degrees, a Met department official said. “The day temperature settled at 37.4 degrees Celsius,
seven notches above the season’s average, which is the hottest March day witnessed since 2010 when the day temperature was recorded at 39.2 degrees,” the official said. Humidity level oscillated between 87 and 29 per cent.

The weatherman has predicted clear skies for tomorrow. “The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 37 and 19 degrees Celsius respectively,” the official said. Yesterday, the minimum and maximum temperatures were recorded at 18.2 and 35.7 degrees Celsius respectively.

Bhuntar and Nahan 29 degrees Celsius, Solan 27.5 degrees Celsius, Dharmshala 24.6 degrees Celsius, Shimla 23.6 degrees Celsius, Kalpa 18 degrees Celsius and Manali 17.8 degrees Celsius.The minimum temperatures also increased across the state.

Keylong and Kalpa in tribal Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts recorded minimum temperature at 1.9 degrees Celsius and 5 degrees Celsius, followed by Manali 7.8 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 11.4 degrees Celsius, Solan and Bhuntar 12 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 13.1 degrees Celsius and Shimla 14.6 degrees Celsius.
