Indian Navy, the naval branch of Indian armed forces, is the fifth largest navy in the world. It’s a well-balanced three-dimensional force, capable of operating above, on and under the surface of the ocean under trying conditions. Here is a stunning trailer of a documentary on Indian Naval Academy, an establishment where budding officers of Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard are trained. Notably, it is the largest naval academy in Asia. The documentary will be premiered on National Geographic channel this Independence day at 9 PM.
The one and half minute trailer is engrossing enough to give you goosebumps. It shows how the cadets undergo extreme physical duress on both the land and under water. They are trained in all aspects, like physical training, swimming, drill, sports proficiency, equitation, x-country running and various service related subjects. It depicts the story of strength and determination of the naval forces that help keep peace in our waters despite a hostile neighbourhood.

The Navy also provides humanitarian relief in times of natural disasters, including floods, cyclones, and tsunamis. India also uses its Navy to enhance its international relations through joint exercises. In recent years, the Indian Navy has undergone rapid modernisation to replace its aging equipment currently in service. Time and again, Navy has thwarted piracy attempts on Indian and foreign vessels and has also come to the rescue of stranded people in a country torn by the civil war.
