The fire which broke out at Times of India building at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi on February 26 is still on. Firemen are making continuous efforts to douse the fire in the building on the second day of fire.

Police sources said it is suspected that the fire could have been caused due to the extra heat generated in the cooling system due to which the smoke spread quickly through the first floor.
“31 fire engines operating and firefighting operations are on. No casualties are reported,” said the Chief Fire Officer (West) Vipin Kental.
Fire officials at the spot said that they had initially sent four fire tenders when they were informed about the smoke rising from the building. Later, more fire tenders were sent to douse the blazing flames.
The editorial staff of the Times of India, the Economic Times and the Nav Bharat Times, located on the second and third floors of the building, were evacuated minutes after the fire incident, officials said.
Earlier on May 11, 2016, massive fire broke out at the Times of India building in ITO, New Delhi.
