Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017 Phase 3 Polling

Voting for the third phase of the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls is underway. A total of 2.41 crore voters to decide the fate of 826 candidates. By morning 9:oo am, a total voter turnout of 12 per cent was recorded. here are 1.31 crore men, 1.10 crore women and 1,026 voters from the third gender who will exercise their franchise on February 19, a poll official said. Prominent personalities whose fate would be decided in this phase are: Shivpal Singh Yadav, Arvind Singh ‘Gop’, Nitin Agarwal, Fareed Mehfooz Kidwai, Vijay Bahadur Pal, Abhishek Mishra, Rajeev Kumar Singh and Narendra Verma. Bhojpuri star Ravi Kishan joins BJP

Changing his political outfit, Bhojpuri superstar Ravi Kishan has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on February 19 while the announcement was priorly made by the BJP MP and Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari. Ravi Kishan was formerly welcomed to the party by BJP president Amit Shah. His welcome ceremony took place at the BJP headquarters at 11 Ashok Road in New Delhi, this morning. Ravi Kishan was earlier a member of Congress party who also contested Loksabha election in the year 2014 from Jaunpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh but lost the seat. Read More

FIR registered against MK Stalin

FIR has been registered against DMK’s working President M K Stalin for his party’s protest at Marina Beach on February 18 after Paliniswami won the trust vote. DMK members created chaos and misbehaved with the Speaker P Dhanapal in the assembly. Later, Stalin was seen coming out of the car with his shirt torn off. The Tamil Nadu state assembly suddenly turned into a heated battlefield after the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MLAs led the commotion against the Speaker P Dhanapal, who denied their demand of secret ballot for the floor test. Moments later, the MLAs turned into warriors and they collectively gathered near the hounorable speaker and then the scene became violent and more dramatic. Read Here
