Pellet guns that wounded 15,000 civilians set to make a ‘comeback’
Labeled as the “non-lethal” weapons by the government, pellet guns that apparently is not supposed to do much damage, created a havoc by wounding at least 15,000 civilians during the unrest that took place in Jammu and Kashmir after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Burhan Wani.
The government had earlier affirmed that they would see if there was a need for looking alternatives to the pellet guns that would be only used to disperse the crowd and not hurt people. According to reports, a modified version of pellet guns are all set to make a comeback. Read Here
‘Been through a lot,’ Kargil martyr’s daughter Gurmehar Kaur pulls out of Save DU campaign
The daughter of Kargil martyr’s daughter, Gurmehar Kaur who found herself at the receiving end after she spoke against the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), has decided to pull out of the Save DU campaign and have affirmed that she will not participate in the march organised by the Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Gurmehar on February 28 asserted that she had been through a lot and requested people to leave her alone. She further said that the campaign was not a political movement but a student’s movement and that the march organised was not about her but the students. Gurmehar urged everyone to go out in huge numbers while affirming that people questioning her courage should know that she had shown enough. Read Here
Donald Trump condemns Kansas killing, says no one should be afraid to follow religion of their choice
Soon after former United States Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton urged United States President Donald Trump to step up and speak against the rise of hate crimes in the country, the White House Press Secretary and Communications Director for Trump, Sean Spicer released a statement saying that the President condemned hateful acts.
“President continues to condemn any other form of anti-Semitic and hateful acts in the strongest terms,” he said. Adding that the country protects the rights of citizens who has to right to worship, Sean said that no one should be afraid of practicing their own religion. Read Here
