Since the announcement of NEET 2017 result, many success stories are coming to light where students have passed the medical entrance exam with flying colours. There is one more story from Rohtak where twin brothers have cracked the exam in their first attempt.
17-year-old twin brothers, Harshit Malik and Jatin Malik who passes class XII from Rohtak’s Scholars Rosary School have secured 115th and 192nd rank in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Examination (NEET) 2017. Both of them want to study together and are hopeful of getting admission at Delhi’s Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) in Delhi.
On achieving this feat, Harshit said, “We always studied together and did equal hard work. That is why our marks in this exam and Class 12 boards are also almost equal”. In class 12th board exam, Harshit has got 93%, whereas, Jatin secured 92%.
Both did not take any extra coaching classes and made sure that they revise everything that was taught in school. Harshit said, “We ensured to study six hours a day on school days and 10 hours on weekends. Self-study is more important than any type of coaching”.
“Our daily schedule was to come home from school and sleep for four hours. We studied at night together and helped each other in difficult problems. If one felt sleepy, the other woke him up. If one lost hope, the other gave moral support,” he added.

This year, Punjab’s Navdeep Singh is declared the topper in the NEET 2017. He scored 697 out of 700 marks in the medical entrance examination. The results of NEET were announced on June 23. There was a delay in the announcement of NEET result this year, the result was expected to be declared on June 8.

But many candidates filed the petition in the Madras High Court demanding the cancellation of the exam after which High Court put a stay on the announcement of NEET result. Later, CBSE approached Supreme Court which directed that NEET results should be announced by June 26.
