UP Board Results 2017: Over 5 per cent decline in pass percentage for both Class 10 and 12

The pass percentage of students in the UP Board Class 10 and Class 12 examinations 2017 has declined this year

The Uttar Pradesh Board results of Class 10th and class 12th were declared at upresults.nic.in and upmspresults.up.nic.in on Friday. While nearly 3.4 million students appeared for the UP Board Class 10th exam, 2.6 millon students took the UP Board Class 12th exam in 2017. However, the percentage of students who have passed the UP Board Class 10 and Class 12 examinations have declined this year. The pass percentage for Class 10 stands at 81.6 per cent while that for Class XII is 82.5 per cent.

Comparatively, the overall pass percentage in class 10 in 2016 was registered at 87.66 while 87.99% of intermediate students passed in the same year. Over 60,61,030 candidates registered for the high school and intermediate exams this year. However, due to strict vigilance in this year’s exams, an unexpected 5,94,503 candidates left the exams midway while 1,862 examinees were caught copying. Notedly,

After reports of mass copying in some districts, The state education Board flung into action and cancelled 69 exams of various subjects. It also debarred 9 schools from holding the board exams for the next five years. This year the state Board also provided coded answer sheets in 31 districts of the state that were identified as sensitive in order to check cheating during the exams. The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) Chairman Amarnath Verma had confirmed that the results will be declared on June 9.
