UP: Men chop off security guard's three fingers after he fails to give directions

The victim has been identified as Anil Kumar, a resident of Shahdara village, who works as a security guard at a construction site in Noida, UP.

In a shocking incident, three fingers of a security guard were chopped off as his hand was forced into a grass cutting machine by few men, after he failed to direct them to a destination in Surajpur area of Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh (UP).

The victim has been identified as Anil Kumar, a resident of Shahdara village, who works as a security guard at a construction site in Sector-137. Last evening, when he was returning home near Paras Tera Society, the accused who were in car, stopped to ask Kumar for directions to Kulshera village, police said.

When Kumar told that he didn’t know the way, they dragged him inside the car and thrashed him. The assailants then took him to a field where they forced his hand into the machine. Three of Kumar’s fingers were severed. The criminals then fled from the spot, as the victim fell to the ground.

Locals gathered after listening to his cries for help and rushed him to a hospital.

According to a Times of India report, speaking about the incident, Anil’s brother said, “They asked my brother for directions to Kulesra village. As my brother didn’t know the way he told them so. The car occupants probably did not like his reply and struck up a conversation with Anil and told him that they could provide him a better job than that of a security guard’s, they made him get into their car and later drove away to beat him.”

The  security guard is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital, said the police. A case has been registered against the accused at Surajpur police station under charges of voluntarily causing grievous hurt.

Police sources said prima facie, the incident could be because of personal enmity between the guard and the assailants.
