Uttar Pradesh govt announces Rs 10,000 reward for 1 lakh girls who pass Class X exams

Though the Uttar Pradesh Board results for High School are yet to be announced, the Yogi Adityanath govt announced a one-time payment for 1 lakh meritorious girls for passing the Class X emams

Giving a big boost to the ‘beti bachao beti padhao’ scheme of the Union government, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led government announced Rs 10,000 reward for 1 lakh meritorious girl students who clear Class X examination. The announcement was made by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma. In a review meeting, Sharma asked officials of the state secondary and higher education department to accommodate the provision in the state budget.

It was also announced that it will be a “one-time payment to about 1 lakh meritorious girls clearing Class X examination”. Uttar Pradesh Board results for High School are yet to be announced.

Also addressing the issue of pending dues of the teachers, Sharma asked officials to form an action plan to ensure that there is an out-of-court settlement of all the cases. A decision was also taken to end the self-examination centre system and ensure that there is a video recording of centres during examination. Under the self-examination centre system, students can sit for exams in their own schools.

The results of Class 10 and 12 of the Uttar Pradesh Board 2017 will be declared on June 9 at 12 noon. Students can check their results on the official websites once they are announced. There has been a considerable delay in the declaration of the results due to the assembly elections that were held in March.

Uttar Pradesh government had also recently announced that it will help poor Muslim families organise weddings of their daughters. “Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given his consent to mass weddings of poor girls belonging to minority communities and we have included it in the 100 days programme of the state government,” Minister of State for Minorities Affairs Mohsin Raza had said.
