In a shocking incident of Uttar Pradesh, eight men allegedly gangraped a woman before her husband in a vehicle in Jalaun district. Following the gangrape, the couple was robbed and dumped on Auraiya-Jalaun highway.
According to a Times of India report, the incident happened on May 4, however, the incident came to light later. The police said that the Jalaun based couple was travelling home from Jaipur, where they work as artisans. They reached Auraiya by train around Thursday midnight and were looking for a public transport, when the driver of a loader van offered them a lift.
Shortly afterwards, the driver took a halt at a liquor shop and it was then when some other men boarded the van too. It was driven to a secluded spot, where eight men took turns to rape the woman after tying up her husband.
The report suggests that the couple was also abused and threatened against raising an alarm. Following the horrific incident, the duo was dumped on the highway after being robbed of their belongings.
They somehow managed to reach a police station in Jalaun on Friday, and lodged an FIR, following which the woman was sent for medical examination.
The cops have lodged an FIR against eight unidentified men for gangrape and dacoity. The police are claiming that they’ll arrest the culprits soon and that some people have already been rounded up.
