India’s space agency ISRO has just hit a ‘century’. On January 12, it launched its 100th satellite. In a single mission, 31 satellites were sent to space. Out of the total number, 3 satellites are from India while the rest 28 belong to six other countries which include Canada, Finland, France, Republic of Korea, UK and USA.
The Cartosat-2 series satellite was launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota in ISRO’s trusted Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle in its 42nd mission.
This satellite will have several applications. It will include remote sensing for road network monitoring & water distribution as well as in making land use maps & to study geographic data.
Another milestone for ISRO!
