Voice grievances before me, not on social media: Army chief to jawans

Indian Army Chief Bipin Rawat saluted the courage of the Indian Army on Army day saying that the nation is indebted to them.

Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat addressed the members of the Indian Army and the veterans on the occasion of the Army day and said he salutes the martyrs who gave up their lives for the country. He asserted that providing security to the people living across the Line of Control was a priority and the army will not refrain from giving a befitting reply to the ceasefire violations.

The Army chief also spoke about the problems that two of the soldiers claimed they were facing saying that they should go with their grievances directly to him instead of using social media. He affirmed that the jawans using social media to put their problems forth and also impacts the soldiers fighting on the borders.

He also said that they were undertaking certain confidence building measures with China at Northern borders so tensions can be done away with.

Tej Bahadur, who claimed to be from the 29th battalion of the Border Security Force in Jammu and Kashmir, had in a series of videos said that the government has been doing enough to provide the security forces with essential items, but it is the BSF officials who are indulged in the wrong doings.

After the BSF jawan’s video, there have been more videos of posted by soldiers putting forth their grievances on pay and the hardships faced by them on the border.
