Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Rakesh Rathore has been caught on camera slapping a toll plaza employee in Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. As per the footage, the MLA got agitated after his car was stopped from crossing the toll booth. He is even seen pulling the barrier aside and grabbing the man by his collar.
Rathore is a lawmaker from Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh. Rathore allegedly thrashed the toll plaza employee at Fatehganj toll plaza. He also left along with his supporters without paying the tax. No case has been registered yet. The video was recorded on April 19. As per reports, the MLA was angry after waiting for 10 seconds for his convoy to cross the toll.
The video comes at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to crack down on the VVIP culture in the country. The Narendra Modi government on Wednesday announced a ban on beacons or lal batti across India, with only 5 exceptions. “Every Indian is special. Every Indian is a VIP,” tweeted the PM.
