Prime Minister Narendra Modi is no less than a ‘superhero’ for many of us. We think he is the ultimate solution of every problem in the world. Looking at PM Modi’s problem solving skills a Chandigarh-based mechanical engineering student has asked him to play a matchmaker and help him get married to his girlfriend.
The mechanical engineering student wrote a letter to PM Modi and requested to send a volunteer to Chandigarh to convince parents on both sides to agree to the marriage. The girl works as a nurse.
There are many such requests that are sent to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through the centralised public grievance redress and monitoring system every day from Chandigarh.
In another frivolous request to PMO, a resident complained that somebody was plucking flowers in his garden without his permission and nobody was taking necessary action. This was needed many of us face who love gardening.
Interestingly, officials working at the grievance system in Chandigarh says nearly 60% of the complaints and requests are light-hearted and make us smile. The officials also said most of the requests and complaints are personal in nature.
The Chandigarh administration receives around 400 grievances through the PMO’s grievance system every month.
Complaints in the centralised grievance system go directly to the PMO where they are sorted by city and sent to the various authorities in each city to take action.
