We all know that the football-loving Kolkata is crazy about Diego Maradona. His fans are just obsessed with him, be it swearing by his game or having his posters at their homes. He has visited the city only twice but has been mobbed by his fans for photographs and autographs.
But during his recent visit to the city, Kolkata did something that it shouldn’t have done, ever. It built a 12-foot high statue of him which was unveiled at a charity event. The only problem was that the statue looked everything other than Diego Maradona himself. The statue turned out to be a major embarrassment and was subject to brutal trolling.
