When Indian & Pakistani Soldiers Danced Together On Punjabi Numbers

Soldiers from both armies are participating in an anti-terror drill of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Russia's Chebarkul town

Indo-Pak soldiers sharing sweets on festivals is a well-known exercise. But the soldiers from two neighbouring countries walked an extra mile earlier this week.

Visuals of Indian and Pakistani soldiers dancing on Hindi and Punjabi numbers have gone viral on social media.

The visuals were shared by TV journalist Neeraj Raput on his Twitter handle.

According to a report in ABP Newsthe event was held on Tuesday night which was marked as “Bharatiya Diwas” at the SCO drills being held in Russia’s Chebarkul. The Indian Army had invited commanders of all the other armies for the event.

The report said the army officers were welcomed in traditional Indian style during the opening ceremony. Following the ceremony, Indian soldiers also took part in a cultural performance. However, it was the dancing event which became the major attraction of the event.

While the soldiers of rival armies danced to peppy songs of Diljit Dosanjh & Sapna Choudhary, even some Chinese and Russian soldiers joined in.

At least, 200 Indian soldiers took part in the drill that concluded on August 29. Soldiers from eight SCO member countries – China, Russia, India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan participated in the joint drill.

Reports said the event organized by soldiers of Indian Army was held on the second last day of the exercises.
