The newly launched ‘luxury train’ Tejas Express which is yet to be flagged off from Mumbai for Goa on May 22 by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has been damaged already. The windows of the Tejas Express were damaged by unknown miscreants, while it was traveling from Delhi to Mumbai on May 20.
According to the reports, few glasses of the Tejas Express windows were found broken when it stopped in Delhi.
Calling it not a serious issue the General Manager, Central Railways, DK Sharma says “when the train arrived we came to know that a few glasses were damaged, but it is not a serious issue. We will correct it.”
The new premium train will run 5 days a week between Mumbai and Karmali in Goa. During the monsoon season, it will run 3 days a week.

The 20-coach modern train has executive class and chair class with the coaches having tea and coffee vending machines, magazines and snacks tables. Tejas Express is also equipped with CCTV cameras for security of passengers.
Tejas Express, which will run at a speed of 130 kmph, has coaches equipped with automatic doors, Wi-Fi and LCD screens. The coaches of the have been manufactured at the Indian Coach Factory in Chennai.
The coaches of the new train also include other novel features like touchless water taps, water level indicators and hand dryers and all coaches fitted with bio-vacuum toilets.
