Well, we all have come across stories where a woman is killed by mother in law or husband for bringing inadequate dowry or other reasons but what is quite unheard of is a woman killing his son to save her daughter in law.
Yes, this incident happened on Tuesday evening in Mumbai’s Mankhurd where a 45 year old woman strangled his own son to death to save her daughter in law from his beatings. However, after killing him she stayed with her body for the entire night.
Anwari Idrisi lived with her 3 sons and their wives in Ambedkar Chawl, Mankhurd, Mumbai. Nearly two years ago, her youngest son Nadeem was married to an Allahabad woman who was unaware of his addiction to drugs. Nadeem’s wife left him just five months after their marriage as she could not take his beatings anymore.

However, Nadeem’s mother did not want her to leave, she priomised her that Nadeem would not beat her and leave drugs. She also assured her that next time Nadeem will lay a hand on her she would come to her rescue. The daughter in law got convinced and returned Mankhurd.
But Nadeem’s drug addiction continued as usual. On tuesday night, Nadeem returned home in an inebriated state. Realising he would become violent, Anwari ordered her sons and daughter in laws to sleep at neighbour’s home. Agitated over her behaviour, Nadeem started beating her own mother. Once he got tired, Anwari pushed him towards a steel ladder. She tied her dupatta around his neck and strangled him to death.
After killing her son, Anwari sat next to her body for entire night. At 5.45am when Nadeem’s wife returned home, she saw her mother-in-law crying, said the police.
