A woman has been dragged out from the event after she raised anti-Modi slogans during the Prime Minister address on Swachh Shakti 2017 on the occasion of International Women’s Day in Gandhinagar on March 8. However, the exact details are awaited.

PM Narendra Modi is in Gandhinagar, Gujarat to attend a conclave of women Sarpanch. During the event, he gave away Swachh Shakti 2017 awards to women achievers. Addressing the event, Modi said, “In 2019, we will mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. He always said India lives in the villages.”

“Gandhiji also said cleanliness is more important than political freedom. You can imagine the commitment he had towards cleanliness. Today we are honouring Sarpanchs who have contributed immensely to the movement towards a clean India,” he added.

“The women we are honouring today have broken so many myths. They have shown how a positive change has begun in rural India,” PM Modi said.
