New Year resolutions are always hard to keep. Isn’t it? 2018 is here and most of us already have a long list of resolutions. And with each passing year, our skin demands attention more than ever before. So for all the health conscious fashionistas and beauty enthusiasts, following a simple yet effective beauty regime should definitely be on the list, apart from the usual workout regime and following a healthy diet.
So, before moving on to those grand resolutions, it’s time to follow these beauty resolutions that will do wonders for your skin:
1) Opt for face masks instead of those scrubs
Say no to those harsh scrubs as they are not doing any good to your skin. Contrary to the popular belief, exfoliating your skin too often will leave you with open pores, bruises and dull skin. Show some love to your skin and opt for face masks instead.
2) Know your skin type and create a skincare routine
Knowing your skin type is of utmost importance. Create a simple skincare routine and if you do not want to follow the cleansing-toning-moisturizing routine, just wash your face and apply the serum/cream that suits you the best.
3) Research before you buy any product
With so many new products in the market, it is very important to know about their constituents. Double check everything and be sure because your favourite beauty vlogger and your skin type can be poles apart.
4) Say no to wet wipes
Replace your wet wipes with cotton pads for two reasons: a) It doesn’t help in removing oil and bacteria from your face, b) These are not very environmental-friendly, as most of the wipes contain plastic fibers, which are not biodegradable.
5) Clean your makeup brushes weekly
Cleaning your brushes and other makeup application tools will not only keep you away from breakouts but will also ensure a smooth and better application.
Tip: Use a brush cleaner or a mild shampoo for cleaning, otherwise you will end up ruining your brushes
6) Stop switching products too often
Never judge a product too early, as it takes approx 6 weeks or more for a product to show changes on your skin. So, resolve to give the new product some time before switching to another.
(FYI: Ditch this advice if you see signs of skin infection or burning sensation)
7) Get a good night’s sleep and drink a lot of water
Yes, we have been listening to this advice since ages. But this is the best you can do for skin. Taking a proper 7-8 hour sleep and drinking lots of water will not only keep you healthy but will also give you a glowing skin.
