Gone are the days when only glamour ruled Bollywood, irrespective of the characters played by the actors. The era in which we are now is all about reality and relatability. Actors now have to connect with the audience and are required to justify their character, which obviously needs a lot of preparation and hard-work. This is why the filmmakers organise workshops for their actors. However, we also can’t deny the fact that makeup, costumes and obviously their body transformation play a major role in giving shape to their characters. So, here’s a look at some of the drastic transformations of our stars:
Ranveer Singh in Padmavati
The trailer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus has recently released and all we can notice is Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji in the film. While many are comparing him with Khal Drogo from Game Of Throne, we are amazed to see this side of him.

Ranbir Kapoor in Dutt Biopic
Now, this is what you call a true transformation. Ranbir Kapoor who will be seen playing Sanjay Dutt in his biopic is looking exactly like Baba and we seriously have no words to describe it.
Shah Rukh Khan in Ra.One
From donning curly and spiked hairstyles to those blue eyes, Shah Rukh Khan’s transformation in Ra.One is the most unique, new and different from all of his other on-screen avatars. Whether you like him in the film or not, you simply can’t ignore him.
Aamir Khan in Dangal
We all know Aamir as Mr. Perfectionist, who can go to any extent for his character. And while the decision was really tough for us to decide between Ghajini and Dangal, we chose to go with the wrestling drama. And what a transformation guys!

Kareena Kapoor Khan in Ashoka
This was the time when unlike other actresses Kareena chose to go bare face on-screen for her character in Ashoka. With just kohl as her one and only makeup tool, she managed to look stunning and won many hearts.
Abhishek Bachchan in Guru
It is very rare that we see Abhishek Bachchan experimenting with his looks. But when he decided to do so, Junior Bachchan left us all speechless with what he did for Guru. It is so far his best on-screen makeover (please don’t count Drona in it!).
Randeep Hooda in Sarbjit
It won’t be wrong to say that when it comes to major transformations, Randeep Hooda is also somewhat like Aamir Khan. His transformation in Sarbjit is a classic example of how you make a movie character yours.
Kangana Ranaut in Tanu Weds Manu Returns
The Queen of Bollywood made our jaws drop the moment we saw her in a pixie cut with big teeth and that amazing Haryanvi accent. Kangana totally nailed it with her character Datto in the film. Right!
Deepika Padukone in Chandni Chowk to China
Last but not the least, this is the worst transformation you can ever come across. Deepika as a Chinese girl is way beyond disappointing. And this look totally deserves a 2-minute silence for the makeup artist.
