I simply love the days when it’s easy to find beauty in things around you. And when you’ve cozily snuggled on to your bean bag and you’re just writing something about reading and writing, you know it’s a happy-nappy day [Of course, it’s raining]. It’s Republic Day, in case you live in a parallel bibliophile universe and aren’t aware of it [Or you’re simply happy in a world of denial. Ehhh . . . That defines me].
In my desperate attempts to find ‘interesting books’ on the constitution of our ‘great’ nation, which some people actually read or they just have to, I mused around to come up with something, my editor would ungracefully murder me for OR just put me on the future endeavored list—The fundamental rights and duties of a bibliophile. If only we had some. Nevertheless, there’s absolutely nothing wrong in fantasizing, ‘If only!’, ‘If only!’.
The fundamental rights of bibliophile
1. To possess an almost clear vision
2. To chase new horizons and maybe find them
3. To fail to contain your emotions
4. To find your sacred space
5. To never attend parties. Or, just vanish quickly if you’re coerced to do so.
6. To multitask and invite chaos [P.S. We all need some KICK in our life]
The fundamental duties of a bibliophile
1. To be grammarly! Always! Without excuses!
2. To chase happiness and almost catch it
3. To make bad coffee [Okay, horrible coffee for some of you]. And still, sniff it up your nose.
4. To existentially lose yourself in a book
5. To commit to your daily reading [See, now it’s turning into a serious business]
6. To ACCEPT rejection [Because secretly you’re a scribbler]
