A unique example of the Mughal architecture, Chhatta Chowk market inside the Red Fort dates back to the 17th century. An innovation in India, this market was built by Shah Jahan for the women of the royal harem. Designed keeping Delhi’s hot climate in mind, the bazaar on each side consists of 32 arched bays that serve as shops.
