While the fashion world loves treating us with new trends every season, there are a few styles that are so iconic that they become our favourite wardrobe essentials. For instance, can you imagine your saree wardrobe minus plain chiffon sarees (Sridevi’s Kate Nai Katte blue chiffon reference from Mr.India)?

1) Anarkali suits from Mughal-e-Azam

The heavily embroidered, flowy Anarkali suits worn by Madhubala are now an important part of our festive wear wardrobe and we just can’t thank the makers enough for introducing us to this elegant ethnic attire.

2) Mumtaz sarees from Brahmachari

Mumtaz gave a classic twist to the age-old saree draping technique when she rocked a body-hugging orange saree in the song ‘Aaj Kal Tere Mere‘. Since then, this draping style was named ‘Mumtaz Saree’ and we are totally in love with it.

3) Polka dots from Bobby

Dimple Kapadia’s front knot polka dot blouses and mini skirts became an overnight fashion trend and that’s when the polka dots outfits made way to the mainstream fashion.

4) Chiffon sarees from Mr.India

Who can forget Sridevi’s bright solid colour chiffon sarees? In fact, the plain sheer sarees are one of Bollywood’s favourite fashion trends and is a must-have in every woman’s wardrobe.

5) Denim shirts from Rangeela

While Urmila’s outfits in Rangeela were way too bold and edgy as compared to any other film of that time, it gave us the gift of denim shirts that tops our list of cool and comfy casual wear even today.

6) Long t-shirts with Patiala salwars from Jab We Met

Just like the film, Kareena’s outfits were also one of a kind. And one of them was her infamous long t-shirt and Patiala salwar combo that became an instant hit and all of us are guilty of owning at least a pair or two.

Who knew pants can look so cool and be comfortable at the same time. Deepika’s colourful palazzo pants are our all-time favourites and we can never have enough of them.
