Any non-vegetarian food lover would understand the contribution of Awadhi cuisine to the world. From mouth-watering Lucknowi chicken biryani that plays tricks with your senses with its flavourful aroma to the amazing kababs that leave you craving for more, Awadhi cuisine is known for its luxurious spices and subtle flavours. But what would you do if you wake up one day with an intense craving for these flavours?
Would you book a ticket to Lucknow and give yourself a hearty treat or find a place in the neighbourhood and munch on the delicacies there? My guess is the latter option. So, for the fifth edition of ‘Best thing I ate this week under Rs 100‘, we will take you on a trip to have the best dish in under Rs 100 to Noida’s Bhramaputra Market. And it’s time to eat Kabab Paratha.
How I got there: Kabab parathas are a Lucknowi specialty. If you have ever been to the city or met a person from the city, you will know how popular the dish is. You can have it for breakfast or an evening snack. Take two parathas and you are all set for lunch (or even dinner). When it comes to food, I usually don’t mind traveling. But traveling all the way to Lucknow was definitely not a possibility here. So I headed to the hub of street food in Noida- Bhramaputra Market in Sector 29.

About the place: The thing with street food is that unlike fancy restaurants that assure dishes prepared by gourmet chefs, it can surprise you. Small stalls can house flavours that have the power to leave a lasting impact on your soul. As far as the place that serves kabab parathas is concerned, it’s a small stall with just basically two varieties of paratha combinations– vegetarian and non-vegetarian. But the giant board that reads– ‘Lucknowi Zaika‘ will help you locate the place.

What I ate: I’m a die-heart non-veg food lover so I opted for a plate of non-veg kabab paratha. And admittedly, I was taken aback by the taste of the kababs. They were soft and flavourful and they melted in my mouth as I took the first bite. The parathas were crisp and they reminded me of my short stay in the ‘city of Nawabs‘. The hari chutney was equally good and went perfectly with the combination. If I had to describe my experience in two words, I would say– soul satisfying!
