We’d all be horrified if someone were to keep tabs on just how much food gets wasted because we didn’t know what to do with it. Here are some easy hacks to ensure that you can put those leftover items to use and put them back on the plate with a little bit of effort.
1. Cardamom Skin
Never through away cardamom skin, instead put them in rice box or tea jar. This will give a nice aroma to the tea and food.
2. Tomato Skin
If you have tomato skin left after blanching them, make puree. All you need to do is just add a spoon of sugar to tomato skin you’d normally throw away, add some garlic cloves, coriander, a green chilli and salt to taste. And your dip is ready!
3. Chapatis
Got some chapatis left? Dip them in salted water, apply butter and roast on a tawa. Or you can just roll some vegetables and eat it with a dip. It makes for a perfect roll.
4. Leftover Veggies
Never throw leftover veggies, fry them in butter and add onion and ginger-garlic paste along with some pav bhaji masala. Eat it with bread or bring some pav.
5. Maggi
Got some Maggi left? Mash some boiled potatoes, add onions, garlic, green chillies and spices mix with maggi. Don’t overdo the mixing. Now make the desired shape from the mixture and deep fry them. Eat hot with chutney or tomato ketchup.
