Gauri Khan recently had the lavish launch of her first restaurant design venture — Arth. It was a star-studded affair and all the A-listers of Bollywood were present at the party. From husband Shah Rukh Khan and daughter Suhana to Bollywood biggies like Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Farah Khan and Anil Kapoor, everybody was the part of the Gauri’s soon-to-open restaurant in Mumbai’s Bandra. Of all the celebs, it was Suhana Khan who caught everybody’s attention. Wearing tangerine body-hugging bandage dress, the pretty lady looked gorgeous in her plunging neckline number. Well, we were so in love with Suhana’s dress that we forget about the interiors of Arth.
Though the restaurant is yet not opened for public and will open on June 21, here we have some details ready for you. We already know that Gauri Khan has designed the restaurant. She entered the field back in 2010 with friend Suzanne Khan. And now she teamed up with Aallia Hospitality Pvt Ltd for her latest restaurant. Also, Gauri is quite new to restaurant design, here she brought something really exciting. The USP of the Arth kitchen is that it is gas-free and every dish is made using traditional, ancient cooking techniques.

While speaking to media at the event, she said: “Dining should be a delightful and a beautiful experience.” She further said “We wanted to create an inviting atmosphere. Space is rustic-chic with soft lighting. Stunning, old-world chandeliers are central to the design. The ambiance beautifully complements the food.”
In an email interview with Architectural Digest, she spoke about the design of her restaurant:
“I’ve taken a classic approach. Design can often be too quirky and OTT, and then it doesn’t serve to enhance the dining experience, but distracts from it.”
The restaurant which is spread over two floors has beautiful Rex Diamond installation. Also, Gauri has installed her favourite diamond-shaped pendant light here. Gauri further explained “I don’t have a set aesthetic. It [ultimately] depends on the vision a client has for space. With Arth for instance, Aallia Hospitality (the people behind One Street Over and Bastian) wanted to create a space that was inviting and warm,”
