One of the weirdest food experiments we’ve been unfortunate enough to experience are those with Pani Puri. Why fix something that isn’t broken? Humans be strange, clearly. Here are five times everybody’s favourite street food – gol gappas – got makeovers nobody really asked for.
1. Butter Chicken Gol Gappa
This Delhi restaurant has managed to combine two really amazing dishes together and now we don’t know what to say. Is eating gol gappas with tamarind water and masala aloo filling same as eating it with butter chicken? (Hint: NO) They also have pizza gol gappa and makhani gol gappa.
Where: Social Foodie Inside, GG II, 71-A, Vikaspuri, New Delhi
2. Mint Vodka Pani Puri
What happens when your favourite drink meets your favourite evening snack? This place in Delhi serves mint vodka shots with pani puri and the result is … interesting. Instead of the spicy water, they offer vodka in shot glasses. Served with a fresh mint-vodka shot, these gol gappas are garnished with Kimchi.
Where: The Townhouse Cafe, N63-64, Munshi Lal Building, Block N, Connaught Place, New Delhi
3. Paneer Makhni gol gappas
Qubitos is definitely one of the most beautiful cafes in West Delhi. But the other things they boast of are Paneer Makhani and Chicken Makhani gol gappas!
