The Chaitra Navratri or the Vasant Navratri is the first day of the Hindi Luni – Solar Calender. The nine day festivity marks the worship of the Goddess in her nine glorious avatars and the last day marks the birth of Lord Rama. Most north Indians follow a strict food menu which includes many vegetables, fruits, kuttu atta, sabudana etc. While many follow these rules at home and cook during the festival, there are many who also like to go out during the festive time with their families.
