In an interview with a leading news channel, PM Narendra Modi spoke about the performance of his government, the economy and the employment. While addressing the issue of employment, he gave a simple (and what was supposed to be a humble) example of the pakode wala’s economic model. He said,
“If someone opens a ‘pakoda’ shop in front of your office, does that not count as employment? The person’s daily earning of Rs 200 will never come into any books or accounts. The truth is massive people are being employed.”
While we are not an expert in economics, we can definitely show you how to make the crispiest of pakoras. We spoke to Ramesh Kumar Gupta, who hails from Bihar and is working here for 15 years. Ingredients
Gram flour
Red Chilli
Garam Masala
Salt
Turmeric
Vegetables
Mustard oil
Method:
Make a batter out of gram flour, red chilli, garam masala, salt, and turmeric
Cut vegetables (of your choice) in small pieces and dip them in the batter
Deep fry veggies covered with batter till they get golden
