In recent years, many new cafes and restaurants around the world with unique theme and menu have grabbed our attention. From Bollywood and Medieval themes to collaborative workspaces, cafes these days have a lot to offer. But how many of them think beyond providing a luxurious and comfortable environment to their customers? Well, not many. But to our surprise, a cafe in Raipur (India) has done something unbelievably unique and thoughtful. Nukkad The ChaiTastic Teafe employs only transgenders and differently-able people. Yes, you heard that right. And here’s all you need to know about this amazing one of a kind cafe:
Founded by Priyank Patel in 2013, this cafe is a social enterprise, which aims at providing employment to specially-abled people and making them self-dependent.
The decor is all about tribal art, murals and lots of colours and has a bohemian feel to it. The cafe has a comfortable seating space with cushions scattered all over the place. It is one place where you can sit and relax for hours, play board games, read books and much more.
From herbal and detox to exotic flavour teas, the cafe serves a huge variety of tea and light snacks. The cost for dishes starts at Rs 30 and goes up to Rs 200. Quite cheap! No?
Some of their super cool offers include Charity Chai, Digital Detox, Gyaan Daan, Bill By Dil, Tea and Tones. While in Digital Detox you get a 10% discount to deposit your ccell phone till you are there, Gyaan Daan is a book exchange scheme.
