7 changes that a woman’s body goes through when she becomes sexually active

It not only opens the door for a lot of health benefits but you also start noticing your body changing. Here are six changes that take place in your body

It doesn’t matter whether you did it as a teenager, or you were the last one to do it in your social group or you decided to have sex only after marriage- losing your virginity generally comes with a lot of surprises. While what every woman feels at an emotional level may be different in each case, what happens to our body post sex is almost always the same. It not only opens the door for a lot of health benefits but you also start noticing your body changing. Here are some changes that your body goes through when you have sex for the first time.

You start having happy thoughts

When you have an orgasm your brain starts releasing oxytocin which is like a happy pill for your brain. Women’s brains are capable of releasing oxytocin in a greater amount than men. So you start feeling more content in life and connected to your partner. Having sex also releases dopamine, which increases confidence and encourages social behaviour.

Breasts become firmer temporarily

And bigger. Yep. After you have sex for the first time, the nervous system gets riled up causing blood vessels to swell up and as a result, the breast tissues swell up as well. However, don’t expect it to be firmer for the rest of your life. The change is only temporary.

Your nipples become more sensitive

You start experiencing a lot of new changes and it triggers more blood flow and muscular tension in places you have never experienced before. And this includes areas around your nipple. This process called vasocongestion makes nipples hard, and can even give goose bumps or lead to an orgasm.

Classic PMSing

You tend to feel a lot many emotions at the same time. So don’t be surprised if you feel all kinds of intense emotions or want to cry out loud.

Your vaginal portion becomes more flexible

Before being sexually active, the vagina is pretty tight but after having an intercourse it magically learns to adjust during sexual activity. The clitoris swells up and the uterus rises a bit in order to make the sex smoother.

Your body starts retaining more water

There’s a common perception that women gain weight after sex. Although it might be true to some extent, this doesn’t happen for everyone, so blaming sex for weight gain isn’t fair.

The way your vagina lubricates changes

You might have experienced wetness of your own while masturbating but the way your vagina lubricates when you are with your partner is much more intense. Also, it remains that way for the rest of your life. The lubrication may change depending on a variety of factors, including your menstrual cycle, your partner, and your emotional state.
