Museum of Broken Relationships is a global crowd-sourced project with permanent museum outposts in Zagreb and LA. Each object has been donated by real people — a message for their ex for the world to see. The stories in the exhibition are pretty thought to invoke.
While most people were attracted to the thought of seeing a space dedicated solely to stories of broken hearts and relationships, it’s the artwork at hand that transforms the space into a true museum. The clean, white aesthetic that gently guides people through the beautiful open layout is just decorative, it’s the broken relationship memorabilia and trinkets along with short essays to put the pieces in context, that teach you all about love and heartbreaks. Here are 7 lessons we learnt from this complex portrait of love and heartbreak:
