Meet the Autorickshaw band that fuses Indian classical music with jazz, pop, rock, funk and other contemporary forms of music. The trio — Suba Sankaran, Dylan Bell and Ed Hanley — who make up the band, started it in 2003. Though they have Canadian roots, the three of them are inspired by Indian trains and make subtle spiritual references as they go about blending traditional North and South Indian music with Western beats. Having explored India majorly by trains, they draw inspiration from everyday routines and the people who commute daily.
During their 3rd tour in India, the band spoke about their latest album Meter and the reason behind naming their band Autorickshaw.
