China today blocked proposal at UN to list Jaish-e Mohammad Chief Masood Azhar as a designated terrorist. The Ministry of External Affairs expressed concern at China shielding Azhar against a ban.
According to reports by ANI, the MEA said they had expected China to be more understanding and that this is surprising as China herself is affected by the scourge of terrorism.
Vikas Swarup made it clear that India will take stringent action against China’s move.
China has blocked India’s proposal to ban Azhar in the past as well and has gone on record to say that they differ with India on their demand to go ahead with this ban.
