Did The Rs 9 Lakh Jacket Bring Down Nirav Modi?

Maybe it’s the Rs 9 lakh ostrich-hide jacket that did it! A week after Nirav Modi was interviewed on the streets of London, he was arrested by the authorities in the UK in connection with the Rs 13,000 cr PNB scam. The arrest comes days after the Westminster Magistrate Court issued an arrest warrant against him. Modi and his uncle, Mehul Choksi, are wanted for using fake guarantees in the name of the state-run Punjab National Bank. Both the accused fled India in January 2018 even before the CBI started investigating the case. A charge sheet has been filed against Modi by the CBI as well as the Enforcement Directorate. ED has also attached Modi’s assets worth Rs 1873.08 crore.
