Days after the heartbreaking video of primary school kids in UP’s Mirzapur eating roti & salt in their mid-day meal went viral on social media, an FIR has been registered against the local journalist who shot the video. The Block Education Officer of the area has accused journalist Pawan Jaiswal and a local panchayat member of conspiracy to defame UP govt. The FIR is in sharp contrast to what District Magistrate Anurag Patel had earlier said. Patel had ordered the suspension of two school officials for mismanagement. UP govt website shows an elaborate menu for the mid-day meal programme which includes rice, pulses, vegetables, fruits and milk.
