Actress Vidya Balan is leaving no stone unturned in promoting her next flick Begum Jaan. She is known to speak her mind out in public. This time the Kahaani star has added to the buzz around her film by sharing one of the incidents from her past. In a recently held media interaction for Begum Jaan, when she was asked if her ego has ever been hurt at any point in time. She revealed that during her early days in Bollywood, she had gone to attend a funeral. As she was the only actor who reached early at the venue, photographers started taking her pictures. But as soon as Aamir Khan entered the venue, photographers suddenly ignored her and even pushed her aside and started clicking the Dangal actor.
She added that her ego was hurt with that particular incident which she later shared with her family as well. Explaining what she has learned from the incident, she said “I am a changed person now. If I am hurt by anything then it may be a question asked by anyone from the media or for that matter hearing some comment on my fashion statement or some other stuff.”

Slated to hit the big screen on 14 April, Begum Jaan features Vidya in the role of a brothel owner. Set against the backdrop of the country’s partition in 1947, the film also has Gauahar Khan, Pallavi Sharda, Ridheema Tiwary, Ashish Vidyarthi and Chunky Pandey among others in pivotal roles.

Directed by National Award-winner Srijit Mukherji, it’s a Hindi adaptation of his Bengali film Rajkahini. The film has been produced by Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt under the banner of Vishesh Films. Begum Jaan is expected to be received well at the Box Office.
