It may look like a stampede but it isn’t because it’s actually a part of an unusual religious ritual. Villagers in Gujarat’s Dahod district celebrated ‘Gaai Gohri’ festival where cows & bulls run over people as they lie on the ground. The ritual is meant to express gratitude to God. The animals are adorned with peacock feathers and bells tied on their legs. The villagers believe that wishes come true if one participates in this ritual.
