Katrina Kaif is the newest cast member of Thugs of Hindostan, the highly talked about movie starring Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. Aamir Khan announced this news on Twitter and called Katrina Kaif the latest Thug to join the movie. A few days ago it was revealed that Fatima Sana Shaikh has joined the cast of the movie after various speculations about the leading lady.
Thugs of Hindostan is the second movie of Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif together. They first appeared in Dhoom 3, which went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of Hindi cinema. In the movie, Katrina and Aamir’s palpable chemistry garnered a lot of attention.
Since their last on-screen outing, Dhoom 3 turned out to be immensely successful, expectations would obviously be high from the movie. Interestingly, this movie Thugs of Hindostan and Dhoom 3, both are helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya.
Besides Katrina, Fatima Sana Shaikh has joined the star cast of the film. She played Aamir Khan’s daughter in wrestling biopic Dangal that became a blockbuster. Fatima’s selection finally ended the dilemma for the makers as the film got delayed due to casting issues. Now, the shooting will commence from June 1 and release on Diwali next year.
Prior to this, the makers had approached Alia Bhatt and Vaani Kapoor for the role but things could not materialise. This is because the female lead has little to do in the film. The same issue was raised by Hrithik Roshan but producer Aditya Chopra replaced him with Aamir Khan.
