Literally Nobody Is Happy About Madhuri Dixit Not Dancing In Kalank’s New Song

The first song ‘Ghar More Pardesiya’ dropped yesterday and it seems the makers fulfilled most of the expectations, but one.

The first song from Abhishek Varman’s period-drama Kalank released on Monday and the netizens were quick to express excitement while also being disappointed by it

With a cast like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt, the film’s expectations are sky high.

The first song ‘Ghar More Pardesiya’ dropped yesterday and it seems the makers fulfilled most of the expectations, but one.

In a soulful rendition by Shreya Ghoshal, Roop, played by Alia, is seen acing some Kathak moves.

Twitteratis praised Alia’s graceful dance moves. But what left many of the fans disappointed was the sight of Madhuri Dixit not taking over the dance floor. The dancing diva, who is playing Bahaar Begum, can be seen watching Alia’s moves and the latter takes centrestage

So they have Madhuri in a kathak song just singing a few lines and then watching Alia come from nowhere (understandably a stranger) put up a dance performance!?!?!?! #GharMorePardesiya #kalank

Iconic Madhuri Dixit only as a spectator while Alia is dancing. Wished it could have been a better version like ‘Dola Re’ of Devdas. Really missed the dance moves of @MadhuriDixit

Several reactions targetted Karan Johar for not giving a chance to Madhuri, bringing back the debate of nepotism.

Highly disappointed a non dancer @aliaa08 has got all steps while a trained diva @MadhuriDixit has not a single step in #GharMorePardesiya

All because of Nepoking @karanjohar #Kalank of Bollywood…

#GharMorePardesiya: Underwhelmed with Alia so far. She has clearly made an effort but she doesn’t “click” with this larger-than-life role. You can tell she is posturing, especially in her lip-sync portions with the effortless Madhuri. Wish there was a dance sequence with Madhuri.
