The next time you violate traffic rules, you might end up paying a fine that’s bigger than your vehicle’s value. A resident of Gurugram was fined Rs 24,000 for not carrying his two-wheeler’s documents. The cost of his vehicle? Rs 15,000. The man, Amit who was fined for not carrying his documents told TOI that he doesn’t intend on getting his impounded vehicle released.
This was the second such incident in the last 24 hours, with another motorist from Delhi who was in Gurugram for work, fined Rs 23, 000.
The Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019, that came into effect on Sunday imposes hefty fines on traffic violators.
