54 hours of continuous swimming covering 130 miles across English channel, United States’ Sarah Thomas, an open-water marathon swimmer created a world record on September 17. She became the world’s first person to swim English Channel four times non-stop. Till now, only four swimmers have crossed the Channel three times non-stop. An experienced swimmer from Colorado, Sarah completed her first open-water event in 2007. She swam across English Channel in 2012 as well as in 2016. In 2018, she was diagnosed with breast cancer after which she underwent treatment. She has dedicated her victory to “all the survivors out there”.
