It has been two days since team India failed to lift the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 after going down to arch-rivals Pakistan in the final match of the cricket tournament held at the Oval on June 18. Virat Kohli-led team India is facing criticism from all quarters for receiving a humiliating defeat. Recently a leading news channel in India, Times Now tried to get Indian players’ reaction on why they did not replicate Indian hockey team’s gesture to wear black armbands in order to express solidarity with the soldiers martyred in Jammu and Kashmir.
On June 18, when Virat Kohli-led Indian team faced a comprehensive defeat, our Hockey players made us proud after they thrashed Pakistan by 7-1 in the Hockey World League Semi-final match in London. During the game, our Hockey players put black bands on their arms to express solidarity with the Indian soldiers.
On this, Times Now tried to take the reaction of few Indian players on why they did not wear the black arm band. The channel under ‘Are the cricketers ornamental patriots?’ showed videos of how Indian players Hardik Pandya and Yuvraj Singh ducked and dodged their question. In the video, one can clearly listen to their reporter asking the same question: ‘Yesterday, the Indian hockey team wore black armbands in solidarity with the dead soldiers in Kashmir. Do you think that was a good thing?
They not only showed the footage on their TV channel but also uploaded these clips on their twitter handle by using hashtag #CricketersForgetBraves.

Times Now’s these tweets did not go down well with Twitterati and they started trolling the channel. Here are some of the reactions.
