Twitterati could not keep calm as Bangladesh knock New Zealand out of ICC Champions Trophy 2017

Bangladesh have managed to stay alive in the tournament as they knocked out New Zealand, Twitterati went berserk after the win, here are a few tweets

That’s three in a row. Three upsets in three days. At first, it was Pakistan beating South Africa, the No.1 ODI team. That was followed by minnows Sri Lanka defeating Defending Champions India and now Bangladesh knocking New Zealand out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. It was a match that had everything in it. Bangladesh bowlers bowled their heart out in the first innings not letting Kiwi batsmen off the hook and post a gigantic total. New Zealand could only manage to score 265 for 8, thanks to brilliant bowling from Taskin Ahmed and Mossadek Saikat Hossain.

It seems like former cricketers had an eye out for this clash between New Zealand and Bangladesh which was considered to be a dull affair. Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi and former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif lauded Bangladesh’s fightback to stay alive in the tournament.

Brillant chase Bangladesh, stunning comeback & partnership between Shakib and Mahmudullah! The #CT17 is truly alive.

Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah brought the game back to life as they put on a partnership of 224 for the fifth wicket rescuing their team from a certain loss. Both Shakib and Mahmudullah scored centuries taking their team to a comfortable victory by 5 wickets with 16 balls to spare.

They did not just knock out New Zealand out of the tournament but strengthen their claim for a spot in the semi-finals. Although their spot depends on the England-Australia clash on June 10.

Feeling sorry for the guys who have turned off their TV’s when @BCBtigers lost their first 4 wickets. You people have missed an epic #NZvBAN

Meanwhile, two minutes of silence for former England cricketer Michael Vaughan who thought it would be an ordinary game.

NZ to win by a good margin today !!!!!! @MrGreenSportsUK …. Don’t worry I can’t be wrong 3 days on the Trot !!!! #CT17 #NZvBAN

— Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) June 9, 2017

Bangladesh players would be pretty happy with their effort as they had made a comeback in the tournament after 11 years. They have not been able to reach the semi-finals in the history of the tournament. Though there is a chance that it might change this time around.
