A video of a 5-year-old Pakistani kid copying Jasprit Bumrah’s complex bowling action has gone viral on social media. Bumrah was nostalgic to see a youngster idolising him when he came across the video.
Bumrah’s bowling action is unique, making it tough to copy for anyone. His arm does not go sideways as it does for most bowlers. At the same time, batsmen find it tough to pick him. The young kid from our neighbouring country managed to mimic it just perfectly whereas most of us get confused by his bowling action despite watching it over and over again.
In 2014, Bumrah burst into the scene with his mysterious bowling action, troubling the batsmen. The fiery, toe-crushing yorkers made batsmen searching for the ball, making it hard for them to get underneath in the limited overs format. After playing for Mumbai Indians (MI) in Indian Premier League (IPL), he went on to make his international debut in 2016.
Now, the 24-year-old fast bowler is ruling the ICC ODI bowler rankings. Apart from the occasional no-balls he bowls, there are barely any other chinks in his armour.

A few experts believed that his bowling action is prone to injury but the Gujarat bowler has managed to avert any major injuries in his career so far. Now, he is making advancing towards the longest format of the game — Test cricket. From the looks of it, he might end up cementing his place in the Test side in a few years.
