Aamer Sohail's match-fixing allegations: Here's how Twitter reacted

Aamer Sohail's match-fixing allegations ahead of the India vs Pakistan ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final are surely not a confidence booster for Pakistan

Former Pakistan cricketer Aamer Sohail made allegations that Pakistan’s matches in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2017 were fixed by someone from outside. The news of allegations soon spread like wildfire as Pakistan are to go up against arch-rivals India in the final of the tournament. As soon as the allegations from Sohail surfaced on the internet, Twitter got filled with mixed responses as a few rubbished Sohail’s statement while a few others tried to troll him and the Pakistan team.

Sohail also warned Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed that it is not their team’s performance but the fixing that has led to Pakistan winning crucial games and reaching the finals of the tournament.

Sohail was quoted by News 18, he said, “Sarfraz needs to be told that you have not done anything great. Someone has helped you win the game. There is no reason for you (Sarfraz) to be so happy. We all know what happens behind the scenes. Don’t wish to get into the details on who won them the games. If asked, I will say that the prayers of the fans and God has won them the games. They have been brought to the final due to external factors and not based on on-field performance. The boys now need to be level-headed and focus on playing good cricket,”

Here’s the video in which Sohail made allegations-

It is a shocker of a statement ahead of the epic final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 on June 18. An allegation like this would play on the minds of Pakistan players who will be looking to avenge their defeat in the group stages of the tournament on June 4 which they lost by 124 runs (DLS method)
