Badminton World Championships: When and where to watch Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu’s semi-final matches?

PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal have assured India of two bronze medals yet, they will be looking to book a date in the finals by winning the semi-finals

PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal have kept India’s hope alive in the World Badminton Championships. India have two bronze medals already in the bag with Indian shuttlers Sindhu and Nehwal in the semi-finals. The entertainment quotient will be high as Nehwal gears up to take on Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara and Sindhu taking on China’s Chen Yufei.

Nehwal’s opponent Okuhara ousted two-time defending champion Carolina Marin of Spain with a 21-18, 14-21, 21-15 victory in an hour and 33 minutes. Whereas Chen Yufei of China continued her winning run by beating eighth seed Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand 14-21, 21-16, 21-12.

Saina, 12th seed, fought off home favourite and 16th seed Kirsty Gilmour 21-19, 18-21, 21-15 in an hour and 14 minutes to assure India of at least a bronze medal. She played her seventh consecutive quarter-finals at the World Championships, reached the semi-finals for the second time.

India’s P.V. Sindhu won her quarter-finals match against fifth seed Sun Yu of China 21-14, 21-9 in a nail-biter affair.

PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal’s semi-final clash match timings-

Saina Nehwal will take on Nozomi Okuhara at 5:30 IST whereas PV Sindhu will go up against Chinese shuttler Chen Yufei at 00:30 IST (August 27). Though these timings are tentative and might vary due to the length of the games of other clashes in World Badminton Championships.
